1999 Supreme / SSUR Tee
Supreme / SSUR Tee
Once again, big thank you to @supremefr for supplying pictures of the items he has. One of the more hard to come by tees nowadays, Supreme teamed up with one of the streetwear OG’s when they collaborated with SSUR back in 1999. The caption at the bottom that accompanies the graphic that shows a burning building that reads “Kids Ain’t Playing Over Here” really tops it off and makes this a great tee that really expresses the Supreme and SSUR message. This tee released alongside the “Top Of The World” tee that was also part of the same ‘99 collaboration with SSUR. For those who may be unfamiliar with SSUR, the brand was launched by Russian-born and Coney Island based artist Ruslan Karablin in 1990 in New York. Karablin has said that he gained a ton of his influence from what Shawn Stüssy was doing with his brand and he seen clothing as another medium to express his artwork, essentially creating SSUR based off of these thoughts he had. SSUR has seen much success over the years and now have four standalone stores worldwide with the locations being New York City, Los Angeles, Shanghai (China), and Odessa (Ukraine).
